Here's how MSFP works:

Income-eligible people ages 60* and older can sign up to receive $50 in (free) vouchers to spend on fruits, vegetables, and honey- from any of our farm vendors!

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be a Maine resident

  • Be 60 years old or older (55 years old or older for Native Americans)

  • Meet the 2023 Income Guidelines, with a gross income at or below: $27,861/per year for a one person household; or $37,814/per year for a two-person household

Free transportation to market is available monthly, for eligible seniors, through the City of Portland's 62+ Club. The next available date for transportation is July 10th. You must first enroll with the City of Portland to join the 62+ Club, and then sign up for their monthly scheduled trip to our farmers' market. Please reach out to the 62+ Club at (207) 808-5400 or visit their website for more information.

You may only sign up once per season. If you are already signed up for Senior FarmShare with a farm for 2024, you cannot enroll with a farmers’ market this year.

Thank you to the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry (DACF) and the Maine Federation of Farmers' Markets (MFFM) for making this happen!
